Abstract

Introduction. Patients suffering from acute pancreatitis are at high risk of serious cardiac complications. The effect of cardiodepression belongs to the category of potentially dangerous complications of acute pancreatitis.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the features of the relationship between the effect of cardiodepression and acute pancreatitis.

Materials and methods of research. We analyzed the results of pathological examination and histology of the heart of patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in the period from 2019 to 2023.

Treatment results. The results of our study showed that the second most common diagnosis was pancreatic necrosis – 10,8 % of patients. Chronic pancreatitis is in third place – 8,8 %. Patients have complications such as peritonitis, intoxication, various types of shock, phlegmon, peritoneal necrosis, which leads to death. The combined manifestation of peritonitis and intoxication led to severe multiple organ disorders, including impaired functioning of the cardiovascular system, and cardiodepression. A significantly significant correlation was found between the condition of the heart muscle tissues and the severity of edema. There was a direct correlation between tissue characteristics and the severity of edema.

Conclusions. The data obtained is approximately comparable to the data obtained by other authors. Uncontrolled release of proinflammatory cytokines into the systemic bloodstream in response to activation of proteolytic enzymes and tissue destruction in acute pancreatitis is a trigger mechanism for the formation of systemic inflammatory response syndrome. This process is accompanied by the development of pathological conditions, one of which is the effect of cardiodepression.
