В статье представлены основные вехи жизни и научного творчества профессора. Н.М. Волкович широко известен исследованиями в абдоминальной хирургии, травматологии, ортопедии, оториноларингологии, урологии, гинекологии и нейрохирургии. Установлены малоизвестные факты из его жизни. Работая в Александровской больнице, Волкович получил большой опыт в клинической хирургии и травматологии. Подчеркнуто, что наиболее весомым был вклад Н.М. Волковича в травматологию. Отмечено, что он пропагандировал целесообразность раннего вставания больных, отстаивал принцип функционального лечения переломов. Анализируется работа Николая Маркиановича над вопросом лечения переломов, буквально до конца своих дней, завершивши многочисленные труды обширной монографией «Повреждения костей и суставов». Под его руководством вышли в свет 84 научные труды, из которых около половины на немецком языке, поражают многообразием затронутых тем. Как показало время, основные теоретические и практические положения и открытия ученого до сих пор составляют основу наших знаний в фундаментальной хирургии и травматологии.
The article presents the main milestones of the life and scientific creativity of the professor. N.M. Volkovich is widely known for studies in abdominal surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, urology, gynecology and neurosurgery. Little-known facts from his life are established. working in the Aleksandrovskaya hospital, Volkovich gained extensive experience in clinical surgery and traumatology. It was stressed that the most significant contribution was made by N.M. Volkovitch in traumatology. It is noted that he advocated the expediency of early rising of patients, defended the principle of functional treatment of fractures. The work of Nikolai Markianovich on the treatment of fractures is analyzed, literally until the end of his days, having completed numerous works with an extensive monograph “Damage to bones and joints.” Under his leadership, 84 scientific works were published, of which about half in German, amaze with the variety of topics touched. As time has shown, the main theoretical and practical positions and discoveries of the scientist still form the basis of our knowledge in fundamental surgery and traumatology.
